News in Brief

Here is a quick catch up on the latest news from Fibrecrafts.

Despite the perceived doom and gloom of the current financial climate, Fibrecrafts continues to grow from strength to strength. The problems of slow page load on the web site have now been eradicated and we apologise for any delays you may have experienced. Shopping online can be frustrating at the best of times and we hope you haven't been put off (go on, have another go...)

We're also delighted to report that sales have increased on last years figures - confirmation of a stable future for both the customers and employees of the business.

The learning curve for the Polymer Clay Pit was relatively steep but we've reached the peak now and things are starting to level out!

We've used and explored the products, tweaked the web site (click here for Polymer Clay Pit web site) and designed a new catalogue (hopefully available in the next 4-6 weeks).

The polymer clays are so versatile. Once baked, they set into a hard plastic which is suitable for buttons, toggles and beads. The clay is so easy to manipulate and can be used for making dolls and dolls house miniatures, models, boxes, frames and more.

New Year, New Beginnings

We're nearly two weeks into the new year and have only just got round to wishing you a happy one - HAPPY NEW YEAR! We've been very busy here learning all about a new product range.

We hope this is a positive piece of business news during this glum climate, George Weil & Sons Ltd (which is the parent company of Fibrecrafts and Papershed) is now the proud owner of the Polymer Clay and Silver Pit. You can see the products by visiting the web site and we're currently working on a paper catalogue which we hope to have available by April.

The polymer clays are much like a smooth, but superior, plasticine. They can be worked into detailed models, colourful beads, unique buttons, dolls and more. Once oven baked, the clay becomes hard, strong and durable. The exciting and precious Art Clay Silver clay can be fired with a blow torch or on a gas hob. It can be used to make unique pure silver items such as jewellery, beads and more.

MODELLING: Modroc Hand

A member of the Trinity Methodist Church in Woking has kindly brought in a photo of one of our products in use at their Friday Night Club.

This Modroc hand was created by a member of our staff and you can see the photo taken at the club behind. The modeller first wrapped his hand in cling film before applying the wetted Modroc. Great messy fun! Do you know of any good tips for using this product?
