Silk papermaking or silk fusion is a paper-mâché type technique for creating textured paper/fabric or 3d objects using silk fibres combined with an adhesive medium (
view this page in the Fact File to find out more).
The technique can be adapted to combine fibres such as cotton or bamboo sliver, paper, skeleton leaves, dried petals and scrim. The silk paper can be stitched and incorporated into quilts or collage.
Here you will find the tools and materials to create your fused silk 'paper'.
The Methyl Cellulose granules are of archival quality ensuring longevity of your handmade paper, while the acrylic based Silk Paper Medium helps to repel moisture making the finished paper more durable. See 'Spinning' for a larger selection of hand-dyed silk fibres and cellulose plant fibres
